Austines Ayasi Akika - An Etsako Police officer with class

Austines Ayasi Akika - An Etsako Police officer with class

The Etsakos are in what is known as Edo state of Nigeria today. They are of the former well known Kukuruku division. They are of the larger group known as Afemais with great names like Auchi, Afuze, Jattu, Fugar, Okpella, Agenebode as some of the big towns.
The Etsakos are in three local governments namely Etsako East, Etsako Central and Etsako West.
In recent times, Etsako west became more popular for producing the immediate past governor of Edo state, Comrade Adams Oshiomole who is from a village known as Iyamoh in Uzairue. Other great landmark of this local government is the Auchi Polytechnic, Okpekpe race, NTA Uzairue, Notre Dame Hospital etc,
Furthermore, one of the names that has found its way unto the list of Etsako greats like Late Mike Akhigbe, Festus Inih, Prince Tony Momoh, Chief Mike Ozekhome, Chief Raymond Dokpesi and many others is Austines Ayasi Akika, an assistant commissioner of police and area commander.
All he ever wanted to do was to join the police force and make a difference like never seen before. Born in Afashio Uzairue Estako west local government. The same local government where greats like late Boniface Izegwiri a former assistant commissioner of police who is from Jattu Uzairue, Austines Ayasi Akika in his quest to join the police started out at the then Bendel State university, Ekpoma Edo state now Ambrose Alli University.

He is one man whose strides in the force has earned him accolades beyond just the force but the very communities he has served. These accolades includes multiple traditional titles which is a rare achievement for police officers.

Austines Ayasi Akika holds a master degree in psychology a course he technically went to study as a result of the need to make himself better equipped for the job. Akika in a recent interview with foremost journalist and media entrepreneur Mr. Kingsley Momoh, who is also from Etsako and whose father coincidentally was also a police officer, Akika insistence that bail is free became a subject of discussion in many quarters as many people have wondered if indeed it was possible to go into a police station and stand for bail on personal recognition basis alone. However, other senior officers have corroborated his claim and now it seems more Nigerians now insist on getting bail for themselves or their arrested friends or relatives who are bail worthy for free.

Today he is the area commander of Area M of the Lagos state police command, Idimu Lagos a position he is holding for the second time. This indeed is a result of his sterling performance during his first term as the area commander sometime back.
It seems his impact is felt by everyone as market women and men, civil servants, artisans, traditional rulers and even members of the police force attest to his giant strides in protecting lives and properties.
Happily married to the wife of his youth, he is a grandfather and a man who believes in the sanctity of the family.

Assistant Police Commissioner, Austines Akika Insists Bail Is Free

Perhaps one of the finest of cops in Nigeria, Austines Ayasi Akika is one of the most decorated Nigerian police officers going by the numerous awards that adorn his office. These of course tells you that the man must have earned them through dint of hardwork, professionalism and patriotism. This much Iya Dudu deduced from my little investigations. After hearing from a colleague that he said that bail is free, I wondered what gave him the guts to make such statements in Nigeria. I knew he was well respected for his mannerism which I discovered must have been because he has served in all the geopolitical zones in Nigeria and he earned unrivaled accolades from all the places but I thought he was just like any of them - so so talk. But he proved me wrong because I personally have experienced bail for free at the same police station.
I was hungry to know more until I read in an interview a while ago.

Read the story below

Acquiring bail at any police station is usually a transaction that involves money. Although not a fixed amount, this reporter has experienced it first hand. A church member had called on me to come bail him because the police had arrested him after he was reported to have beaten up a neighbour during a fight between the two and despite insisting bail is free, I had to part with some money for stationery, disinfectants, toiletries etc "for the running of the station".
However, the area commander of Idimu police station, Austines Ayasi Akika who is well known for his acts of professionalism as a Nigerian police officer, has come out to state once again that it is the right of the citizen to insist that bail is free. The statement by the senior officer sounded like the usual sayings of top officers but ACP Akika while speaking with Guguru FM pointed out that it is the right thing to do and if the police insist that a person seeking bail must pay for it, such a person should seek the attention of the divisional police officer or any other senior officer to wade into the issue.
Akika who has numerous awards to show for his professionalism pointed out that people are quick to offer financial gratification to police officer when they have crossed the lines of the law. He said how can you get to a place and on the wall is boldly written "bail is free" and they ask you for bail? Why won't you shout and insist that bail is free as written on the wall and on other posts in the police vicinity?
He gave an example of when he was the divisional police officer at Adeniji Adele police station. It was the case of an elderly woman whom he assisted to get her grandson released who was picked up during a routine raiding by the police. He had instructed his men to let the woman's grandchild go with her while he (Akika) was on his way out of the station.
He was alarmed when he came back about an hour later to meet the woman at the station.Upon asking why she was still there, the old woman said she was afraid her grandson (who has been released to her) might be arrested again by the police because they didn't collect a dime for the bail.

What If Samuel Omojuwa Had Died As A Result Of Police Brutality?

I copied this from this young man's facebook page. Such a rude shock!
Omojuwa Samuel Olatunji added 3 new photos.
INCIDENT AT KETU POLICE STATION! Justice Must Prevail! Regardless of treatment. First and foremost, I give thanks to God for they failed in all their attempt. "So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him".
Nigerian Police had sent many of her Citizen to early grave and life in imprisonment via a concoct or fabricated stories. Can you imagine I was placed on such attempt? If not for God and fellow Citizens who knew exactly what the Policemen are capable of doing, quickly responded and they were very smart! I want to thank all those who came out en masse to protest for my release from the LION'S DEN! (Even Daniel in his time was at peace with the Lions). Our Nigeria Police are too DANGEROUS! It depressed my heart each time I reflect over what happened, I could have been killed (But God Forbid). They attempted every means by trying to enforced me to say something I never did, placed weapon in front of me to reconstruct and justify their wicked ways but i insisted that they take me to the hospital which continually result into cutlass whooping. Oh poor me! Oh Poor little Orphan!
I eventually thought that is the end of my life with the way it was going at that time. Then I looked into the eyes of the Policemen and saw NO GOOD! BUT WICKEDNESS, DECEIT, LIES, RAGED and ALL MANNERS OF EVIL representation. THEY WERE EVEN LAUGHING and REJOICING at MY AGONY. After several minutes, the DCO came into the arena they took me to and shouted at them to STOP! and ordered them to removed all the weaponry they placed in front of me and said "Don't you know he is innocent and he is OMOJUWA brother". That was then I knew I still have hope and a life to live. So, I urged them to hurry and take me to the hospital because my survival is what is at steak at that moment.
Thereafter, I was released to my brothers to take me to the hospital. Police + GUN + BULLET = Only Jesus can Save. I am for sure a VICTIM of NIGERIAN POLICE and I hereby Call for JUSTICE. EVERY REASONABLE NIGERIAN MUST SHARE MY STORY! This is exactly how People were sent to early grave because of bribery from motorcyclist. I just can't stop Thanking God! And All duly process must be followed to ensure the BEGINNING OF CHANGE! POLICE IS EVIL! (Not all of them though) but because majority wins the Vote.
Please share my story! To Save other people's life and this calls for a Reform in the Nigeria Police. Many are in the Prison for the same reason. Many have been afflicted by the NIGERIAN POLICE!
No wonder the Bible Speaking..."Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all"
God Bless you all! Police Brutality Must STOP!

Women Bankers Beware! An Encounter With A Fraudster!

There are some customers that are trusted in your banks that you no longer confirm things you normally should check because overtime they have done business with you and it might look embarrassing if you took them through the usual confirmation steps to ensure their transactions. This indeed is the case in this mail we got from an anonymous citizen journalist, what can be done to help the lady whose job is now history?
She thought she was being cautious and dutiful at the same time not knowing that she was helping the one who would help you say bye bye to all you have worked for.

Please find below a mail I got from a lady who wants to be anonymous. If this story is anything to go with, then, the lady in questions needs our help and the suspect whose name I decided to scramble for obvious reasons needs to face the full wrath of the law.
