Comments Trail Sanusi's Removal

Below are various facebook comments on the sack of Sanusi few months to the end of his term.

I AM CONCERNED ABOUT ITS LEGALITY
I am concerned about its legality. Whilst it can be argued that an employer has the right to suspend an employee, the question here is whether this is a suspension or a removal in the guise of suspension.

For good reason the CBN Governor world over is independent and autonomous. To remove him you need confirmation and buy-in of the Senate. You cannot do it through the back door. If you read carefully the reasons advanced by the Presidency then it becomes clear that this is a removal and not a suspension and therefore illegal and unconstitutional.

It becomes more worrisome when you consider the timing and the fact that the CBN Governor has just blown the lid off a monumental scandal involving the disappearance of 20billion dollars from our coffers. The message being sent out is not the best . There can be no worse attack on the autonomy of the apex financial institution as envisaged by the constitution. For God's sake the man only has 3 months left!

I WOULD SACK SANUSI LAMIDO
If I was the President, I would have sacked Lamido months ago. His cup had runneth over with wines of insurbordination, contempt for the Commander-in-Chief and gross financial recklessness amounting to over N60 billion naira unchecked donations based on a nebulous 'independence of the Central Bank of Nigeria'.

I am aware that the CBN Act gives full independence to the Central Bank but the act did not state that the CBN Governor should be an authority of Governance unto himself. He had succeeded in creating an opposition Government within the ambits of his independence. There was no hiding the disdain in which he held the President, a barely concealed contempt for the man 'wey dey give you chop'.

Lamido has a Superiority Complex. Such people would confuse their bluntness for being rebels against a system. A loquacious gift is not a yardstick for political intelligence. Lamido crossed the line between keeping to his brief as CBN Governor and openly canvassing to be the next Emir of Kano or currying favours by donating billions to some institutions in those areas which would aid his royal ambitions.....

Jonathan did everything humanly possible to help Sanusi's plight
President Jonathan did everything humanly possible to ensure that the disgraced Mallam Sanudi Lamido will leave office with his dignity intact, but as "a stubborn fly", he called the President's benevolence and goodwill a bluff.see where it got him ?

The Governor that readily became a tool in the hands of disgruntled elements
In as much as we are in a democracy, the Governor of the CBN should be conscious of the image of Government. The Governor that readily became a tool in the hands of disgruntled elements parading themselves as opposition should be hammered.

I guess all that's left is to congratulate the first female head of the CBN Dr. (Mrs.) Alade
Well, well, well. The gunslinger President GEJ just gone and done it. I liked the CBN governor, and I think some of his exposures were in the interest of the nation, but when you serve under someone, you really shouldn't go rogue in the manner he did.
I guess all that's left is to congratulate the first female head of the CBN Dr. (Mrs.) Alade.
