The Nigerian entertainment industry is beginning to make much more impact not just on stereo but also on the social and much more ‘serious’ settings. The latest being that of the purported break up of twins' group-Psquare. The group made up of Paul and Peter Okoye is one of the biggest music group from Africa.
In recent times, big separation of top music producer Don Jazzy and his friend, Dbanj rocked the airwaves and it all started as rumours. However, the fact now is that since the break up of the duo, the fortunes of both parties have been under various levels of criticism. More on the side that Dbanj who was churning out hits after hits has not done very good for himself in that aspect while his ex partner, Don Jazzy has been doing well with the acts under his fold.
Fans across the world are worried and some have gone on social media pleading with the brothers to consider the strength of unity. The silence was however broken when the seemingly reserved twin of the duo, Paul wrote on facebook; ‘After the storm comes the calm. Hoping for better days ahead as one family. God’s intervention‘, Paul Okoye wrote on his wall.
What this obviously connotes is that there might indeed be something happening with the twins. However, a school of thought has come up with the conspiracy theory of blowing their popularity.
Recall that Jude Okoye, the older brother and Manager of P-square revealed the major break-up rumour a few days ago.
He took to his Twitter page to state that, “After over 10 years of hard work, it’s over. (I) Am done.”
More on this will come soon.
